Sho-Air International, Team Big Bear and Blue Wolf are proud to announce America’s richest XC/Endurance Mountain Bike Stage race. The event will take place August 21-24, 2008 in around Brian Head, Utah. Racers will travel 170 miles in four days and climb over 14,000+ feet through some of the most beautiful country found anywhere. The American Mountain Classic-Brian Head is designed to be a true stage race, not a lesson in survival. The course layout will offer a variety of terrain and elevation changes to challenge the world’s top riders, yet allow the weekend racer a chance to complete the entire stage race and realize the dream of wearing the American Mountain Classic finisher’s jersey. Elite Men’s Top 5 Payout: $2,500/$1,500/$1,000/$750/$600.
The A.M.C. is America's Richest Mountain Bike Stage Race. The Elite Men , Elite Women and Elite Master's 40+ categories, along with amateur categories will be competing for over $20,000 in cash and prizes, as well as trying to stake their claim as the American Mountain Classic-Overall Champion.
Top 3 of Elite Men's and Elite Women's Pro field will have equal pay:

Elite Master’s 40+ Top 5 Payout: $1,500/$1,000/$750/$600/$500.
$250 bonus to Winner of each Stage!
Elite Women’s Top 5 Payout: $2,500/$1500/$1000/$550/$400.
$500 bonus to Winner of each Stage!
Amateur categories will race in 5 and 10 year age groups depending on the class. Each age group will be vying for the coveted American Mountain Classic race winner’s jersey, among other prizes. All finisher’s, in all categories will receive an American Mountain Classic finishers jersey.
The resort town of Brian Head, Utah will host the 2008 American Mountain Classic Stage Race. Brian Head is long known for its World famous trails and unsurpassed scenic beauty. Surrounded by the Dixie National Forest, there is something for the whole family in Brian Head. The resort town is just a short drive from Bryce Canyon National Park and Cedar Breaks National Monument .
